Abstract

The research work developed in 2023 and 2024 is reported, focused on teaching strategies to strengthen
environmental education in early childhood at the Micael Cotes Mejía headquarters of the Armando Estrada
Flórez Educational Institution, in Julio Zawady, Zona Bananera, Colombia. The study, with a qualitative
approach, used interviews, observations and focus groups, and focused on integrating environmental education
into the school curriculum through practical activities and local collaborations. It was concluded that it is
essential to implement specific environmental education programs from childhood to develop pro-
environmental skills and attitudes in students.
